Winter Windows Response

So it's been a couple of weeks since we launched our 'Winter Windows' project, kicking off with some installations created by local artists Emma Reynard, Lisa Green, Nichola Wadsworth and Steph Coley.

We then invited local residents to apply for their own packs of craft materials to create their own artistic winter window displays. We were overwhelmed with the response with all 80 of the craft packs being snapped up in just three days! The fantastic parish participants have really gone to town on their creations, using a guide created by the artists to have a go at some of the techniques that they used and in some cases using the artists work to inspire their own variations on the themes.

So now to the next part of the project. Very soon residents in Blackwell Parish will receive a 'Winter Window Hunt' card, so whilst you're out and about getting some exercise or popping to the shops you can mark off where you've spotted people's wonderful window designs (don't forget to visit the artist installations in Blackwell, Hilcote, Newton and Westhouses).

Once you've completed some (or all) of the card give us some feedback on the project and post it back or drop off the card to the address provided to be in with a chance of winning some great prizes from local businesses.

We really hope you enjoy getting out and about to see in person the efforts that your friends and neighbours have made, we're sure you'll agree that the designs are brilliant!
