We’ve Made Some Banging Bunting!

With the Newton Community Association we’ve been getting ready for the jubilee celebrations. Residents from Newton and across the parish (a few from over the hill in South Normanton too!) came together with their sewing machines and scissors to create some community bunting!

Local crafter extraordinaire Hayley Pell from ‘Feeling Crafty’, came to facilitate us on her first community crafty session. . . . and it was a blast. The Newton Church was packed, we listed to music, slurped cuppas, had a beasty scone, nattered and did a lotta cutting and sewing triangles together.

Everyone really enjoyed getting together

‘What a wonderful community spirit! Young and old working and laughing together’
‘Lovely feel to event – warm, friendly & inclusive’
‘great community spirit, really enjoyed the workshop’

Hayley is still sewing the flags together and the last time we heard she was at triangle number 585! WOW…

We hope you’ll come and see these beauties dancing at The Newton Picnic?
