Meet the Working Party!

Another post in a series where we get to know a bit about the members of the Greater Creative working party, the team behind all of the creative goings on in the parish. This time it's the turn of Pam Stocks.

Name: Pam Stocks

Which part of the Parish do you live in? I live Westhouses and I have done for 25 years.

How did you hear about/get involved with the Working Party? I spoke to Jodie [Co-Director of Platform Thirty1] and Ian [Working party member] at Newton's community centre re-opening. My first involvement with the group was during the 'Create a Crest' project .

What were the reasons you wanted to be involved in the project? I thought it was an opportunity to bring new and exciting things to the community and encourage residents participation.

What do you hope to gain from being involved? I really want to be able to get to know our community better and to help to create a better parish for us all.

What are you hoping that the project will bring to the Parish? Ultimately a stronger bond between residents and family participation. Also lots of fun projects for all to join in with.

What have been the highlights of the project so far? Meeting like minded people who all work well together in the Greater Creative Working Party team. Create a Crest and the wood sculpture competitions have been great and a really good example of what the community can achieve together.

Are there any future parts of the project that you are looking forward to working on? The 'Winter Windows' project although in the early planning stages sounds good, I'm looking forward to helping to get people involved with that. It will be a brilliant opportunity to bring some creative light into what is bound to be a very strange Christmas for us all this year.

More long term I'm very excited about working on the scarecrows project next year...watch this space!
