Meet the Working Party
Another post in a series where we get to know a bit about the members of the Greater Creative working party, the team behind all of the creative goings on in the parish. This week Katie Owens.

Which part of the Parish do you live in? I live in Blackwell.
How did you hear about/get involved with the Working Party? I was part of my local youth club where I then became part of the local youth group ‘Wings on Tour’.
What were the reasons you wanted to be involved in the project? I wanted to positively impact my parish and really enjoy leading creative activities, particularly with young people.
What do you hope to gain from being involved? I hope to improve my confidence in sharing ideas and gain a greater understanding of the processes involved in community projects, such as these.
What are you hoping that the project will bring to the parish? I am hoping this project will unite all generations of the parish and educate the younger generation on their heritage.
What have been the highlights of the project so far? I always enjoy helping in the creative workshops, but I also really enjoyed going to Leicester to look at ‘Bring the Paint’ exhibits.

Are the any future parts of the project that you are looking forward to working on? I am looking forward to further developing ‘The Assets Strands’ and exploring which artwork to exhibit on our local buildings.
