Meet the Working Party!

Another post in a series where we get to know a bit about the members of the Greater Creative working party, the team behind all of the creative goings on in the parish. This week Emma Owens.

Which part of the Parish do you live in? I live in Blackwell. How did you hear about/get involved with the Working Party? I'm part of the local youth group 'Wings on Tour' and I'm currently doing my Duke of Edinburgh. I heard about the working party through my involvement in these activities. What were the reasons you wanted to be involved in the project? I like to work with young people and to see the impact on the children in our community. I really think that what we're doing will benefit them and help them in later life. What do you hope to gain from being involved? I hope to learn more about the parish and to gain experiences that will improve my leadership skills.

What are you hoping that the project will bring to the parish? I hope that the project will enagage young children in creative activities and help them to gain knowledge about various art forms. What have been the highlights of the project so far? Definitely working with the young people in our workshops, it's lovely to see how much they get out of it and how happy it makes them. I've also really enjoyed working with and meeting new people from around the parish.

Are there any future parts of the project that you are looking forward to working on? I’m looking forward to seeing the new wood sculptures in the villages near us, I think that people in our community will really respond well to them. I can't wait to see the winning designs!
