Wood Sculpture Installs

You may remember that last year we held our wood sculpture competition. We announced the winners in October and they were lucky enough to visit the workshop of wood sculptor Andrew Frost to discuss their designs and get a glimpse of the process before Andrew got to work carving the pieces. What a Year!

“OUR EOI WAS SUCCESSFUL!"

WE GOT INVITED TO RUN A DEVELOPMENT PHASE SO THAT WE COULD SHARE OUR LEARNINGS AND APPLY FOR THE GRANT! Proudly, we were 1 of the 14 communities selected to apply for the large grant nationally! How it All Began

The Creative Civic Change fund was an opportunity launched in 2018 that was funded by Big Lottery Fund, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and Local Trust. The grants programme was set up to support communities to help create positive change in their communities using the arts and creativity. Over the next 3 years we are working towards making Blackwell Parish a community-led, connected, playful and proud parish that pro-actively and creatively commemorates and celebrates its people and places. We've secured some funding, have a growing working party of community members on board and going to have a lot of fun along the way!

We will work with artists, creative organisations & the community to develop, design and create an exciting programme of free events that we can all enjoy. And we need YOU to make this truly locally owned! Keep an eye out for opportunities to take part in consultation, help design the activities, run sessions and access free youth provision and creative trails around the parish.
